SUMMER CRUISE WEATHER UPDATE
As I type this at 3:30 PM on Sunday afternoon, it is 105 degrees in Mesquite, NV. The good news is that it’s ‘only’ 86 in Cedar City. To put it succinctly it’s HOT! HOT! HOT!
I expect we will hit triple-digit temperatures Thursday afternoon and likely in Zion and St. George on Monday. We will also hit high temps on our way home but should avoid the hottest part of the day. The saving grace is that for most of our trip we are between 4000’-7000’ feet and high temps will most likely be in the high 80’s.
PLEASE START HYDRATING NOW! The best way to a avoid dehydrating is not to start. Hydration should primarily be water but drinks that have electrolytes along with water (and not too much other junk in them) can also be used so you don’t flush your electrolytes. There are also electrolyte pills available. Eat bananas and maybe even add a little more salt to you food.
Thanks as always.
