We’ll grab Route 66 through Kingman and then up to the Hoover Dam, wrapping around Lake Mead, through the Valley of Fire State Park ($15 entrance fee), and finishing up at Freemont Street for night #2. Thanks to the recent rain, the beautiful journey home through the Mohave National Preserve and across the desert should be breathtaking!

♦♦ 60 Miles

The OCHOG’s New Member Ride is open to All Riders, and generally everyone likes to run this route. The name comes from the benefit that it provides those who may not be as seasoned on their bike yet. The route incorporates a bit of everything. A little freeway, a little ocean front, some twisties, and a lot of stops and starts. It’ll help you get comfortable with your bike and the various riding conditions. We’ll leave and end from the Orange County Harley-Davidson dealership, and is usually accompanied by a great BBQ at the end of the ride.

Another key to this ride is it’s a nice and easy jaunt around town. I mean, how can you be in a hurry when you come over a hill and get a wide angle view of the Pacific Ocean!

For those of you who are new to the group, plan on showing up by 8:00 am for ‘New Member Orientation’ at 8:15 am. This will offer you a quick run-down on how we ride as a chapter and what the various hand signals mean.
